Drew and Jenny Johansen - Owners
Drew Johansen is the head diving coach at Indiana University, where he has been USA Diving named Drew head coach of the U.S. diving team for the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games in London, Rio and Tokyo. Prior to the appointments Drew had spent ten years as a U.S. National Team coach. Under Drew's direction, the United States took home one gold, five silver and four bronze medals: putting the US team as the number two medal producer in the world.
Jenny Keim Johansen is the assistant coach to the High-Performance Squad at Indiana University. Jenny graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. from the University of Miami in 2002. While at University of Miami, she was a six-time All-American selection and won the NCAA championship on the 3-meter springboard and platform in 1999 and 2000. On the international scene, Jenny is a 2-time US Olympian competing in the 1996 games in Atlanta and the 2000 games in Sydney. She was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
Together, Drew and Jenny have built three of the strongest and long-lasting club teams in the US. Today they are located in Bloomington, IN with the mission to continue sending young student athletes to college and preparing them to succeed in all aspects of their lives. With 5 Olympic Games and numerous National Champions between them, Drew and Jenny are the best coaching duo in the country.
Most recently, Drew and Jenny became the first husband-wife duo to be named to the same Olympic coaching staff for USA Diving in 2024!
Andrew Capobianco - Head Coach
2x Olympian (2020, 2024), 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist, 6x Senior National Champion & 5x Junior National Champion, 3x NCAA Champion
Andrew is from Wantagh, NY, where he started his diving career at 11 years old - after 4 years of competitive gymnastics. He competed in both gymnastics and diving until he was 14, when he decided to focus on diving. At this point, his family moved to Holly Springs, NC and Andrew joined the Duke Diving Club, where he would train for his high school years. At the Duke Diving Club, Andrew won 5 junior national titles, a senior national title, and qualified to the 2016 Olympic Trials at 16 years old.
Andrew chose to come to IU for college to study Exercise Science and continue his diving career. Here at IU, he won 5 more senior national titles, 3 NCAA championships, and qualified for the 2020 & 2024 Olympic Games, winning a silver medal.
Through his experiences working with some of the best coaches in the world, Andrew decided that coaching is the path for him. He is now committed to growing our sport in the Bloomington community and making JDA one of the premier club diving programs in the country!
Colette Bell - Assistant Coach
IU Diving Team
We will have some members of the IU collegiate diving team helping out when needed. They are historically one of the most successful teams in collegiate diving and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in our sport. Go Hoosiers!
